Introduction

The Ofqual-regulated Level 5 Diploma in Teacher Training is a 120-credit certificate that is equivalent to a Foundation Degree, an HND (Higher National Diploma) and the equivalent of 2nd year of a 3-year Bachelor’s program.

Course structure layout

For this specific level, there will be several mandatory units which will need to be passed in order to gain full qualification and the total amount of hours in terms of TQT (Total Qualification Time) and GLH (Guided Learning Hours) for the course. Below, a brief explanation will be broken down:

  • Total amount of credits: 120
  • Total amount of TQT: 1200 hours
  • Total amount of GLH: 480 hours
  • Mandatory units: 7

Assessment

All diploma programs are Ofqual regulated and verified by the awarding body, students will need to complete and submit all assignments through Turnitin then submit these assignments through the portal. All the units within the module aspect will be assessed and verified by the governing board of this subject based upon the achievements of units passed and specific outcomes which could enhance the information learned.

For example, in order to gain a Pass, the student must have established a basic knowledge towards the subject and what has been taught in terms of demonstrations in either practical or written work that will be requested in the assignment criteria until fulfilled to either the lecturer’s demands or the student willing to upgrade the grade to Merit. After assessment is done, feedback will be given early if submitted before deadline as notes within the feedback will help improve that process.
